Antique Show Photo Safari

Just like when going on safari in Africa, you use a camera instead of a gun, I went on an Antiquing Safari, and used my camera instead of my wallet.

I went to the antique show in Findlay that I mentioned last week.
It is a small show, and is really all antiques, not collectibles or "vintage". What I call "foo-foo" antiques, even though some are elegant and pretty.

I'm glad I had my little camera, so that I felt like I was "getting" something for my time and effort, as there just wasn't anything that really tripped my buying-trigger.

You know how I like a deal, and the prices were all 'collector price'. I hope they made lots of sales, and had a good show, but I was in and out of there in under an hour, so I didn't hear any reports.

I saw some lovely items, lots of shiny glass,
Victorian china, lots and lots of sparkly jewelry, and other treasures.

I did consider this gorgeous Victorian celluloid box with the Pretty Lady, but the price was more than I like to pay (Yes, I do have a collection of celluloid boxes, too. I'll unpack them some day, and show you. I haven't bought any this year, and last year only added 2 to my collection. Prices have gone past my desire.)

I wish I'd have found something irresistable, but maybe next year.

After this show, I did go on up the road to Jeffrey's Antique Gallery, which is a big mall, with all kinds of stuff, at all price levels. I found a few miscellaneous things, some tins, children's books, and a pretty cigar box.

There was even "the one that got away". As I was paying, the next person in line bought this great paper-label Sanford's Paste jar, that would have been a wonderful go-with for my beautiful Sanford's GOOD LUCK Ink Bottle that I showed you a while ago.
Oh well... something else to search for, I guess. This weekend is the monthly antique show in Urbana, O. I wonder what I'll find there? You never know!
